Elijah lives with both his mother and father, who are peasant farmers, in Bukasa Village, Uganda. His parents work very hard in the gardens, but their income is very small and often not enough to meet the basic needs of the family. Because of these financial challenges, Elijah has missed attending school for two full terms. This has been very painful for him, as he loves learning and wants to build a better future for himself and his family. Despite the hardships he faces, Elijah has a big dream. He hopes to become a doctor one day so that he can help sick people in his community and give hope to families who cannot afford medical care. With the support of a kind sponsor, Elijah can return to school, continue his education, and take steps toward achieving his dream of becoming a doctor.
